Premarital Counseling Program and Schedule

We offer online and in-person premarital counseling for couples near Seattle and throughout Washington state, through a program called Prepare/Enrich.

To begin the program, you and your partner each take an online relationship assessment. You then receive personalized results on the strengths and growth areas of your relationship, which are reviewed in the first session of premarital counseling.

Each subsequent session is centered on a particular topic, like conflict resolution, finances, and sex.

Here is a sample of a premarital counseling schedule:

  • Session 1: Review the relationship assessment results and discuss personality differences

  • Session 2: Communication

  • Session 3: Conflict Resolution

  • Session 4: Finances

  • Session 5: Sex & Affection

  • Session 6: Discuss Marriage Expectations, Relationship Roles, and Planning for Children & Parenting

  • Session 7: Look at your families of origin and discuss how they impact your current dynamic as a couple

  • Session 8: Review Personal Stress Profiles and Create Relationship Goals

Please know that you and your partner have some flexibility in choosing how many sessions to complete and which topics you’d like covered in those sessions.
